The Middle East branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers was established in 1995.

Initially called the Dubai branch covering members in the United Arab Emirates, the jurisdiction of    the branch was extended to the entire Middle East: UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, and Jordan; and renamed as the Middle East branch.

 

The Middle East Branch of the Institute is one of the most active branches worldwide.

With over 250 members working in different segments of the shipping industry, the branch has a

prime position among the professional bodies in the Middle East. Regular networking sessions, academic sessions, specialized training, and corporate training programs are conducted regularly.

The Student Awards Night, a glittering ceremony conducted every year in Dubai and attended by over 250 business leaders and guests from the region is a permanent event in the Dubai Shipping Calendar.

 

Dubai is one of the largest examination centers of the Institute. There are other examination centers in Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.

 

The branch is registered at the Dubai Association Centre.
